Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Stables, LLC ("Stables," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you access or use the Stables platform, including our website, web applications, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
Stables is an AI-powered operating system designed for horse boarding facilities, service providers, and horse owners. By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Our role: controller and processor. For some information, Stables decides how and why data is handled and acts as the "controller" (for example, your Stables account details and how you use the Services overall). For other information, Stables handles data on behalf of, and under the instructions of, a facility or service provider, and acts as a "processor" (also called a "service provider"). For example, when a facility enters and manages records about a horse owner, their horse, or their billing, the facility is generally the controller of that information and Stables processes it on the facility's behalf. If you are a horse owner or other individual whose information was entered by a facility or provider, that facility or provider is responsible for its own privacy practices, and certain requests about your information may need to be directed to them (see Section 8).
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly, information generated through your use of the Services, and limited information from third-party integrations you choose to connect.
1.1 Information You Provide
Depending on your role (facility, service provider, or horse owner), we may collect:
- Account Information: name, email address, password, phone number, and profile details.
- Business Information: facility name, service provider business name, address, and operational details.
- Horse-Related Information: horse names, records, stall assignments, schedules, and related operational data entered by users.
- Payment and Financial Information: billing details, invoice and transaction history, and security deposit records. Payment-card and bank-account information, and any identity or verification documentation, are collected and processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe (via Stripe Connect; see Section 3.2). Stables does not store your raw payment-card credentials on its own servers.
- Communications: messages, support requests, and other communications sent through the platform or to our support team.
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
When you use the Services, we may automatically collect:
- Usage Data: pages viewed, features used, actions taken, timestamps, and interaction patterns.
- Device and Technical Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and approximate location derived from IP address.
- Log Data: system activity logs and diagnostic data used to maintain platform stability and security.
See Section 4 (Cookies and Tracking Technologies) for more on the tools used to collect this information.
1.3 Third-Party Integrations
If you choose to connect third-party services (such as messaging or scheduling tools), we may receive limited information from those services as permitted by your settings and the third party's privacy policies. Stables does not control how third parties handle your information.
2. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Services.
- Create and manage user accounts and relationships between facilities, service providers, and horse owners.
- Enable operational features such as scheduling, billing, invoicing, payments, security deposit handling, stall management, and communications.
- Process payments and payouts, maintain financial and transaction records, and support reconciliation of held funds.
- Verify identity and prevent fraud, and meet financial, anti-money-laundering ("AML"), know-your-customer ("KYC"), and related legal obligations, including through our payment processor's verification and fraud-prevention tools (see Section 3.2).
- Provide AI-assisted features, including StablesAI (see Section 6).
- Improve platform functionality, performance, and user experience.
- Communicate with users regarding updates, support, and administrative matters.
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, misuse, security incidents, and technical issues.
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information for money. Certain uses of analytics and advertising technologies may be considered a "sale" or "share" under some state privacy laws; see Section 9 for how to exercise applicable choices. We may share information in the following circumstances:
3.1 With Other Users
Certain information is shared within the platform to enable core functionality, such as:
- Facilities sharing relevant operational data with authorized service providers.
- Horse owners sharing horse-related information with facilities and approved providers.
Facilities and account administrators control which users, staff members, and providers can access specific records, documents, billing details, and care information.
3.2 Service Providers and Processors
We may share information with trusted vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as hosting, payment processing, analytics, customer support, and email delivery. These providers are contractually obligated to protect information and use it only for authorized purposes. They include, among others:
- Payment processing and identity verification: We use Stripe, Inc. and Stripe Connect to process payments, handle payouts to facilities and service providers, hold and reconcile security deposits, and verify identity for fraud prevention and to meet financial regulatory requirements (including AML/KYC obligations). When you register to receive payouts or make a payment, relevant information is shared with Stripe in accordance with the Stripe Privacy Policy. Payment-card and bank-account details, and any identity documentation, are transmitted securely and processed directly on Stripe's systems; Stables does not store your raw payment-card credentials on its own servers. Stripe's handling of this information is governed by Stripe's own terms and privacy policy.
- Analytics and product measurement: We use tools such as Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the Services are used (see Section 4).
- AI processing: AI-assisted features may transmit relevant content to third-party model providers that process it on our behalf to generate responses (see Section 6).
3.3 Legal and Compliance
We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in good-faith belief that such action is necessary to:
- Comply with legal obligations or lawful requests.
- Protect and defend the rights, property, or safety of Stables, our users, or others.
- Investigate or prevent suspected wrongdoing or security issues.
3.4 Business Transfers
If Stables is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels, local storage, and session-analysis tools) to operate the Services, remember your preferences, measure usage, and improve performance.
- Essential technologies are necessary for the Services to function, such as keeping you signed in.
- Analytics technologies, including Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, help us understand how the Services are used.
- Session-analysis technologies, including Microsoft Clarity, may record interactions such as page navigation and clicks to help us diagnose issues and improve usability.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect how the Services function. Where required by law, we provide additional choices regarding analytics and advertising technologies (see Section 9).
5. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations (including financial, tax, and payment recordkeeping requirements), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary based on the type of data and applicable requirements. Payment and transaction records may be retained for longer periods where required by law or by our payment processor.
6. AI-Assisted Features (StablesAI)
The Services include AI-assisted features, including StablesAI, which can answer questions using information available in your Stables account (as enabled by your facility or provider) and general horse-care sources.
To generate responses, relevant content may be transmitted to and processed by third-party AI model providers acting on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
StablesAI is intended to provide general information and surface information already in your account. It is not a substitute for a veterinarian, farrier, trainer, or other qualified professional, and should not be relied on for urgent or emergency decisions.
Use of your data to improve AI
We do not use the content of your account or your conversations with StablesAI to train or improve third-party AI models. AI providers process your content only to generate responses for you and do not retain it to train their models beyond what is necessary to provide the feature.
If our practices regarding the use of your information for AI training change, we will update this Policy and, where required, obtain your consent.
7. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will take commercially reasonable steps to address it and will provide any notifications required by applicable law.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:
- Access and review your information.
- Correct or update inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your account or certain data, subject to legal and operational requirements.
- Opt out of non-essential communications.
- Where applicable, opt out of certain sharing of personal information for analytics or targeted advertising.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@stables.co. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
9. State Privacy Rights (Including California)
Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA/CPRA). These may include the rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as those terms are defined by law.
Our use of analytics and session-analysis technologies (see Section 4) may be considered a "sale" or "share" under some state laws. To exercise applicable opt-out or other rights, contact us at privacy@stables.co. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
Global Privacy Control. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for that browser, where applicable law requires.
Information we process for facilities and providers. Where Stables acts as a processor on behalf of a facility or service provider (see "Our role" above), requests to access, correct, or delete that information may need to be directed to the facility or provider that controls it. If you contact us about such information, we will, where possible, refer you to the appropriate controller.
California "Shine the Light." California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information about a business's disclosure of personal information to third parties for those third parties' own direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose your personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. California residents with questions may contact us at privacy@stables.co.
10. International Users
The Services are operated in the United States, and information is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
11. Children's Privacy
The Services are intended for use by adults. Account holders must be at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly allow individuals under 18 to create their own accounts or to act as the paying party for any transaction.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, provide notice through the Services. Continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
