Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Stables, LLC ("Stables," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you access or use the Stables platform, including our website, web application, mobile applications for iOS and Android (the "Stables App" or "App"), and related services (collectively, the "Services").
Stables is an AI-powered operating system designed for horse boarding facilities, service providers, and horse owners. By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Our role: controller and processor. For some information, Stables decides how and why data is handled and acts as the "controller" (for example, your Stables account details and how you use the Services overall). For other information, Stables handles data on behalf of, and under the instructions of, a facility or service provider, and acts as a "processor" (also called a "service provider"). For example, when a facility enters and manages records about a horse owner, their horse, or their billing, the facility is generally the controller of that information and Stables processes it on the facility's behalf. If you are a horse owner or other individual whose information was entered by a facility or provider, that facility or provider is responsible for its own privacy practices, and certain requests about your information may need to be directed to them (see Section 9).
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly, information generated through your use of the Services, and limited information from third-party integrations you choose to connect.
1.1 Information You Provide
Depending on your role (facility, service provider, or horse owner), we may collect:
Account Information: name, email address, password, phone number, and profile details.
Business Information: facility name, service provider business name, address, and operational details.
Horse-Related Information: horse names, records, stall assignments, schedules, and related operational data entered by users.
Payment and Financial Information: billing details, invoice and transaction history, and security deposit records. Payment-card and bank-account information, and any identity or verification documentation, are collected and processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe (via Stripe Connect; see Section 3.2). Stables does not store your raw payment-card credentials on its own servers.
Communications: messages, support requests, and other communications sent through the platform or to our support team.
Photos and Documents: images and files you choose to upload, such as horse photos, care documentation, receipts, and agreements.
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
When you use the Services, we may automatically collect:
Usage Data: pages or screens viewed, features used, actions taken, timestamps, and interaction patterns.
Device and Technical Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device type and operating-system version, and approximate location derived from IP address.
Log Data: system activity logs and diagnostic data used to maintain platform stability and security.
See Section 4 (Cookies and Tracking Technologies) for more on the tools used to collect this information on our website and web application, and Section 1.3 for information specific to the Stables App.
1.3 Information Collected Through the Stables App
The Stables App collects and accesses the following, subject to the permissions you grant on your device. Device permissions are requested only at the point you first use the relevant feature, and you may change or revoke them at any time in your device settings.
Push notification tokens. A device-specific identifier issued by Apple or Google that allows us to deliver notifications to you (for example, that an invoice was paid or a care task is due). We use these tokens only to deliver notifications from the Services. Tokens are deleted when you sign out, disable notifications, or delete your account. We design notification content to avoid including sensitive financial or personal detail that would appear on a locked screen.
Camera and photo library. Accessed only when you choose to take or attach a photo, for example a horse profile photo, documentation of a farrier or veterinary visit, or a receipt attached to a charge. We receive only the images you select. We do not scan, index, or otherwise access your photo library.
Device calendar. Accessed only when you choose to add a scheduled event, such as a lesson or a veterinary appointment, to your device calendar. We write only the events you select. We do not read your existing calendar entries.
Data stored on your device. So that you can view schedules, care tasks, and related records when your device has no network connection, the App stores a limited copy of your recent records in encrypted storage on your device. Authentication credentials are stored in your device's secure keystore (Apple Keychain or Android Keystore). This information is removed when you sign out or delete your account.
Diagnostic data. Crash reports and error logs used to identify and fix defects.
The Stables App does not track you. The App does not include advertising software development kits (SDKs), session-recording or screen-replay tools, or cross-app tracking technologies. We do not use the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA) or the Android Advertising ID, and we do not track your activity across apps or websites owned by other companies.
1.4 Third-Party Integrations
If you choose to connect third-party services (such as accounting, messaging, or scheduling tools), we may receive limited information from those services as permitted by your settings and the third party's privacy policies. Stables does not control how third parties handle your information.
2. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
Provide, operate, and maintain the Services.
Create and manage user accounts and relationships between facilities, service providers, and horse owners.
Enable operational features such as scheduling, billing, invoicing, payments, security deposit handling, stall management, and communications.
Process payments and payouts, maintain financial and transaction records, and support reconciliation of held funds.
Deliver push notifications and other messages you have asked to receive.
Verify identity and prevent fraud, and meet financial, anti-money-laundering ("AML"), know-your-customer ("KYC"), and related legal obligations, including through our payment processor's verification and fraud-prevention tools (see Section 3.2).
Provide AI-assisted features, including StablesAI, where you have consented to them (see Section 7).
Improve platform functionality, performance, and user experience.
Review reports of objectionable content and enforce our Terms of Service.
Communicate with users regarding updates, support, and administrative matters.
Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, misuse, security incidents, and technical issues.
Comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information for money. Certain uses of analytics and advertising technologies on our website may be considered a "sale" or "share" under some state privacy laws; see Section 10 for how to exercise applicable choices. We may share information in the following circumstances:
3.1 With Other Users
Certain information is shared within the platform to enable core functionality, such as:
Facilities sharing relevant operational data with authorized service providers.
Horse owners sharing horse-related information with facilities and approved providers.
Facilities and account administrators control which users, staff members, and providers can access specific records, documents, billing details, and care information.
3.2 Service Providers and Processors
We may share information with trusted vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as hosting, payment processing, analytics, customer support, and email delivery. These providers are contractually obligated to protect information and use it only for authorized purposes. They include, among others:
Payment processing and identity verification: We use Stripe, Inc. and Stripe Connect to process payments, handle payouts to facilities and service providers, hold and reconcile security deposits, and verify identity for fraud prevention and to meet financial regulatory requirements (including AML/KYC obligations). When you register to receive payouts or make a payment, relevant information is shared with Stripe in accordance with the Stripe Privacy Policy. Payment-card and bank-account details, and any identity documentation, are transmitted securely and processed directly on Stripe's systems; Stables does not store your raw payment-card credentials on its own servers. Stripe's handling of this information is governed by Stripe's own terms and privacy policy.
Analytics, product measurement, and advertising: On our website and web application only, we use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Microsoft Clarity, and the Meta (Facebook) pixel (see Section 4). These technologies are not present in the Stables App.
AI processing: Where you have consented, AI-assisted features transmit relevant content to third-party model providers that process it on our behalf to generate responses (see Section 7).
App distribution platforms: When you download, install, or use the Stables App, Apple or Google may collect information about that activity (such as download and installation records and, where you have enabled it, crash diagnostics) under their own privacy policies. We do not control that collection.
3.3 Legal and Compliance
We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in good-faith belief that such action is necessary to:
Comply with legal obligations or lawful requests.
Protect and defend the rights, property, or safety of Stables, our users, or others.
Investigate or prevent suspected wrongdoing or security issues.
3.4 Business Transfers
If Stables is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
This Section 4 applies to the Stables website and web application. It does not apply to the Stables App, which does not include analytics, session-recording, or advertising technologies (see Section 1.3).
We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels, local storage, and session-analysis tools) to operate the Services, remember your preferences, measure usage, and improve performance.
Essential technologies are necessary for the Services to function, such as keeping you signed in.
Analytics technologies, including Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, help us understand how the Services are used.
Session-analysis technologies, including Microsoft Clarity, record how pages are used and reconstruct a replay of a browsing session, including mouse movement, scrolling, clicks, and the sequence of screens viewed, so that we can diagnose defects and improve usability. We configure these tools to mask text input and to exclude fields and screens that display payment details, identity-verification information, and account credentials. Session-analysis data is processed by the provider of the tool under its own terms. You may opt out as described in Section 10.
Advertising and conversion-measurement technologies, including the Meta (Facebook) pixel, help us measure the effectiveness of our marketing and reach people who may be interested in Stables. Information collected by these technologies may be shared with the advertising platform that provides them.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect how the Services function. Where required by law, we provide additional choices regarding analytics and advertising technologies (see Section 10).
5. Data Retention and Account Deletion
5.1 Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations (including financial, tax, and payment recordkeeping requirements), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary based on the type of data and applicable requirements. Payment and transaction records may be retained for longer periods where required by law or by our payment processor.
5.2 Deleting Your Account
You can delete your Stables account from within the Services at any time, including from the Stables App, at Settings → Account → Delete Account. You may also request deletion by emailing privacy@stables.co. We may ask you to re-enter your password or otherwise confirm your identity before proceeding.
When you delete your account:
Your login credentials, profile, and personal contact information are deleted or irreversibly anonymized.
Push notification tokens for your devices, and any records cached on your devices by the App, are deleted.
You are removed from the facilities, service-provider relationships, and conversations you participated in.
We complete deletion within 30 days of your request, except for the records described in Section 5.3.
Before deleting, you may export your data as described in your account settings.
Facility and service-provider accounts. If you are the owner or sole administrator of a facility or service-provider account, deleting your personal account does not by itself delete the organization's account and records. You will be asked either to transfer ownership to another administrator or to confirm deletion of the organization's account. For the protection of horse owners and other users, an organization account cannot be deleted while it holds unreturned security deposits, has an outstanding balance or pending payout with our payment processor, or has an unresolved payment dispute or chargeback. We will tell you which condition is outstanding and how to resolve it.
If your information was entered by a facility or provider. Where Stables acts as a processor (see "Our role" above), deleting your Stables account removes your access and your account-level information, but records that a facility or service provider controls, such as billing history or horse records it maintains, are deleted on that organization's instruction. If you contact us, we will, where possible, refer you to the appropriate controller.
Your Stripe account. If you receive payouts through Stripe, deleting your Stables account does not close your Stripe connected account or delete records Stripe holds. Contact Stripe directly regarding information it controls.
5.3 What We Retain After Deletion
After account deletion, we retain only the following, and only for as long as necessary:
Payment, invoice, payout, and security-deposit transaction records, to satisfy financial, tax, anti-money-laundering, and payment-network recordkeeping obligations, and to resolve disputes, refunds, and chargebacks.
Records we are required to preserve to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, or to comply with a legal obligation or lawful request.
Limited records necessary to enforce a suspension or termination, prevent fraud, and maintain platform security.
Aggregated or de-identified information that can no longer reasonably be linked to you.
Retained information is limited to what is necessary for these purposes and is not used to market to you.
6. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encryption of data in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and logging of administrative activity.
In the Stables App, authentication credentials are stored in your device's secure keystore (Apple Keychain or Android Keystore), records cached for offline use are stored in encrypted form and removed when you sign out, and you may enable biometric or passcode lock for the App where your device supports it.
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will take commercially reasonable steps to address it and will provide any notifications required by applicable law.
7. AI-Assisted Features (StablesAI)
The Services include AI-assisted features, including StablesAI, which can answer questions using information available in your Stables account (as enabled by your facility or provider) and general horse-care sources.
To generate responses, relevant content may be transmitted to and processed by third-party AI model providers acting on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
Your consent. Because AI-assisted features involve transmitting your content to a third-party model provider, we ask for your explicit permission before enabling them. You are asked to consent when you create your account, or the first time you use an AI-assisted feature. You may withdraw consent at any time at Settings → Privacy, or by contacting privacy@stables.co. If you do not consent, AI-assisted features are disabled for your account and the rest of the Services remain fully available to you.
AI features and the Stables App. StablesAI is not included in the Stables App. Information you enter through the App forms part of your Stables account, and if AI-assisted features are used through the web application under the consent described above, that information may be processed by them.
Limitations. StablesAI is intended to provide general information and surface information already in your account. It is not a substitute for a veterinarian, farrier, trainer, or other qualified professional, and should not be relied on for urgent or emergency decisions.
Use of your data to improve AI. We do not use the content of your account or your conversations with StablesAI to train, fine-tune, or otherwise improve AI models, whether ours or a third party's. AI providers process your content only to generate responses for you and do not retain it to train their models beyond what is necessary to provide the feature. If our practices regarding the use of your information for AI training change, we will update this Policy and obtain your consent before the change applies to you.
8. Community Content and Reporting
The Services include messaging and other features through which users can post or transmit content. Content you post may be visible to other users of the facility, conversation, or organization in which you post it.
The Services provide a way to report objectionable content and to block another user, in every feature where user content appears. Reports may also be sent to abuse@stables.co. When we receive a report, we may access the reported content and related account information in order to review it and take action. We act on reports of objectionable content and abusive behavior within 24 hours of receipt. See Section 4 of our Terms of Service.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:
Access and review your information.
Correct or update inaccurate information.
Request deletion of your account or certain data, subject to the legal and operational requirements described in Section 5.
Obtain a portable copy of your information.
Opt out of non-essential communications, including push notifications, which you can disable in the Stables App or in your device settings.
Where applicable, opt out of certain sharing of personal information for analytics or targeted advertising.
Withdraw consent to AI-assisted features (see Section 7).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@stables.co. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
10. State Privacy Rights (Including California)
Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA/CPRA). These may include the rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as those terms are defined by law.
Our use of analytics, session-analysis, and advertising technologies on our website (see Section 4) may be considered a "sale" or "share" under some state laws. To exercise applicable opt-out or other rights, contact us at privacy@stables.co. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
Global Privacy Control. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for that browser, where applicable law requires.
Information we process for facilities and providers. Where Stables acts as a processor on behalf of a facility or service provider (see "Our role" above), requests to access, correct, or delete that information may need to be directed to the facility or provider that controls it. If you contact us about such information, we will, where possible, refer you to the appropriate controller.
California "Shine the Light." California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information about a business's disclosure of personal information to third parties for those third parties' own direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose your personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. California residents with questions may contact us at privacy@stables.co.
11. International Users
The Services are operated in the United States, and information is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
12. Children and Minors
Accounts are for adults only. The Services are intended for use by adults. Account holders must be at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly allow individuals under 18 to create their own accounts, to hold login credentials, or to act as the paying party for any transaction. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under 18.
Information about minors entered by others. Facilities and service providers may enter information about minors as part of their own records, for example a junior rider enrolled in lessons or a minor listed as a rider associated with a horse. Where that occurs, the facility or service provider is the controller of that information and is solely responsible for obtaining any consent required from a parent or legal guardian and for complying with applicable law. Stables processes that information on the organization's behalf under Section "Our role" above.
If you believe a minor has created an account or that information about a minor has been provided to us in violation of applicable law, contact us at privacy@stables.co and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, provide notice through the Services. Where a change materially affects how we use information you have already provided, or where consent is required, we will obtain your consent before the change applies to you. Continued use of the Services after other changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
