What training programs are

A multi-week training plan for one horse that puts each day’s work onto the care queue when you start it.

A training program is a plan for one horse over a stretch of weeks - a legging-up, a conditioning block, groundwork, a return to full work. You build the plan day by day, and when you start it, each training day becomes a real job on the care queue for whoever is doing the work.

Where to find them

  • Facilities - the Training Programs tab inside Care.
  • Trainers and riding instructors - the Training Programs section in your sidebar.
  • Horse owners - the Training tab on your care dashboard, for your own horses.

Who gets training programs

Every facility has training programs. Service providers get them if they signed up as a trainer, a riding instructor, or “other” — a farrier or vet account doesn’t carry the feature. Horse owners always have them for their own horses.

The shape of a program

A program belongs to exactly one horse and runs between a start and an end date. Inside it, every day can hold one or more sessions, and each session has a type:

  • Training - the working days. These are the only sessions that become care-queue work.
  • Lesson, Competition, Rest day and Other activity - they show on the plan so the week reads honestly, but they create nothing on the queue.

Programs are listed by status - Active, Drafts, Completed, Archived - with the horse, the dates and the goal on each card.

To build one, see Creating a training program.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a training program the same as a care plan?
No. A care plan repeats routine care like feeding or blanketing indefinitely. A training program is a finite plan for one horse, with a start, an end, and a different session each day.
Can a horse have more than one program?
Yes. Programs are listed per horse and by status, and a horse’s page features the running one — or, if none is running, the most recently finished.
