Starting and tracking a training program

A draft does nothing until you select Start. Then every training day in the plan is added to the care queue, and Stables tells you how many: “Program is live. 24 sessions added to the care queue.”

While it runs

• The program header counts adherence - “18 of 24 sessions done”.
• Each day’s card shows a tick when its session was completed, or a warning mark when it was missed. That comes from the care queue itself, so the plan and the record agree.
• Sessions can still be added, edited or removed on an active program. Changes only ever touch work that hasn’t happened yet.

Billing a session

A priced session raises its charge when the session is marked complete on the care queue - not when the program starts. For a barn, that charge joins your pending charges for the horse’s client. For a trainer, it lands in your To Bill queue. An owner planning their own horse bills nobody.

Changing the dates

Use Edit dates to extend a short plan or trim an over-long draft. Sessions keep their own dates, so the range can never shrink past a session that already exists - move or remove that session first. A program that has been started keeps its start date.

Finishing up

• Mark completed - the plan ran its course.
• Save as template - keep the plan, date-free, to apply to another horse later.
• Reuse for another horse - copies every session onto another horse as a new draft, from a start date you pick. The original is untouched, and the copy schedules nothing until you start it.
• Archive - upcoming sessions leave the care queue; completed work stays on the horse’s record. This cannot be undone.
• Delete - the program leaves every list, including the owner’s, and upcoming sessions leave the queue. Completed work still stays: deleting a plan does not undo work that was done.
