The lesson waitlist
A full lesson keeps a line. When a spot opens it is held for the first person for 24 hours, then passes to the next.
When a lesson time on your public page is full, it says Join waitlist, and a lesson whose every time is full reads “Fully booked · join a waitlist”. A rider who picks a full time sees “This time is full - join the waitlist”. They give their name, email, and optionally who is riding, and are told their position: “You’re first in line.”
How a spot is offered
- The first person in line gets an email with a Book this spot button, and a notification in the app if they have a Stables account. The button opens your page with the spot shown as theirs, and they book it like any other booking.
- A spot is held for the person it was offered to for 24 hours, or until bookings for the lesson close, whichever comes first.
- While an offer stands, the lesson reads as full to everyone else on your page. The held spot is not up for grabs.
- If the offer isn’t taken in time, it lapses and passes to the next person in line automatically, within the hour.
- No spot is offered once bookings for the lesson have closed, and a lesson kept off your booking page has no waitlist: riders can’t join it, and no spot is offered from it.
Managing the line
Open the lesson and the waitlist appears under the roster, in order, with a summary line like “2 waiting · 1 offered a spot”. Each person waiting has an Offer spot button to offer them a spot now, whatever their place in line, and a remove button to take someone out of the line. An offer only goes out while the lesson has a free spot and bookings are still open; otherwise Stables tells you why.
Joining the waitlist is not a booking
Nobody on the waitlist is on the roster and nobody is charged. A place only becomes a booking when the spot is taken.
