Payment methods: ACH vs. card
Bank transfers are cheaper and support auto-pay; cards are instant. Here’s how to choose and how bank verification works.
When you pay on Stables you can use a bank account (ACH) or a credit/debit card. Bank accounts are listed first for a reason — they carry lower fees.
The trade-offs
- Bank transfer (ACH): 1.25% processing fee, supports auto-pay for recurring charges, typically takes 3–5 business days to complete (your invoice shows Processing (ACH) until it clears).
- Card: 3.5% fee ($1 minimum) when fees are passed on, completes immediately.
Adding and verifying a bank account
Bank accounts verify instantly via secure bank login, or with micro-deposits: two small deposits arrive in your account within 1–2 business days, and you return to confirm the amounts and activate the account.
Some businesses accept only cards — if so, you’ll see a note that bank account payments aren’t supported and be asked to add a card.
Saved methods live in your payment settings; your bank account shows a “Lower Fees” badge and whether auto-pay is enabled.
