What currency your invoices are in
A barn in Canada bills in Canadian dollars (CAD); everyone else bills in US dollars (USD). It is automatic - there is no setting.
Your invoices are in your barn’s currency, which follows the country your barn is in: Canadian dollars (CAD) for a barn in Canada, US dollars (USD) everywhere else. It comes from Country in the Location card under Facility Settings → Facility Details → Overview. There is no separate currency setting.
- The currency is fixed on each invoice when it is created and never changes afterwards.
- CAD amounts show as CA$, for example CA$525.00. USD amounts show as $.
- Stables does not convert between currencies or use exchange rates. Your client pays the amount on the invoice, in the invoice’s currency.
Paying a CAD invoice
Bank transfer (ACH) works for USD invoices only. A CAD invoice is paid by card, or offline if you accept offline payments.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I choose a different currency?
No. The currency follows your barn’s country: CAD in Canada, USD everywhere else. Stables bills in USD and CAD only.
My barn is in Canada but a new invoice is in USD. Why?
Check Country in the Location card under Facility Settings → Facility Details → Overview. Invoices created before it said Canada keep USD. If it says Canada and new invoices are still in USD, contact support.
Can I change the currency of an invoice I already created?
No. The currency is set when the invoice is created and stays with it.
