My agreement PDF won’t upload
Uploading a boarding agreement or waiver fails? Check the file, your permission, and your account status - the error message says which.
When an agreement upload fails, the message on screen says why. Match it to one of the causes below.
Where to upload
- Open Agreements in the sidebar and select Upload Document (Upload on a phone), then drop your PDF in or click to browse.
- Or select Send Document and, under Add documents, choose Upload PDF.
The upload starts as soon as you pick the file.
The file
- It must be a real PDF. A Word document or an image renamed to end in .pdf is refused - export or print it to PDF first.
- It must be 10 MB or smaller. A larger file is refused with a message saying so; compress it or split it into parts.
- The file name, and whether the PDF was scanned, don’t matter.
Your permission
The facility owner can always upload. Other staff can upload only when their role has the Documents Manage permission (“Create templates and send documents for signature”). Of the built-in roles, only Manager has it by default; Staff, Trainer, Riding Instructor and Barn Hand do not.
If you don’t have it, you won’t see the Upload Document button, and an upload is refused with a message saying who can upload. Ask the owner to turn on Documents Manage for your role, or just for you, under Facility Settings → Staff.
Your Stables account
If your barn’s Stables subscription is inactive - for example, a trial has ended or a payment failed - uploads are blocked along with other changes, and the message says so. Sort out the subscription and try again.
