Who can see your messages

Simple rule: only the members of a conversation can see it. There are no barn-wide channels.

Every conversation is visible only to its members - the people explicitly added to it. There are no facility-wide channels and no per-horse threads that others can browse.

What that means in practice

  • A direct message between you and your facility is private to the two of you.
  • A group chat is visible to exactly the people added when it was created - no one else, including facility staff who aren’t members.
  • A facility owner does not automatically see messages between a boarder and a staff member; they’d have to be a member of that conversation.
  • Providers see a thread only if they were added to it.

Group chats aren’t private channels

Before posting something sensitive in a group, check the member list — everyone in it sees every message. For one-on-one matters, use a direct message.

Only the person who created a conversation can delete it for everyone; other members can remove it from their own list.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I message the whole barn at once?
There’s no broadcast channel — create a group chat with the people you want to reach. Facilities can also email all customers from the facility dashboard.
