Pony Land

About Pony Land

Pony Land offers horse boarding, riding lessons, and guided trail adventures in southern San Diego, approximately 15 minutes from downtown. This family-owned ranch combines a relaxed, kid-friendly atmosphere with direct access to the Tijuana River Valley Trail System, giving boarders the convenience of heading out on a ride straight from the property.

Full-service boarding includes twice-daily feedings of alfalfa or Bermuda hay, automatic waterers, stall cleaning six days a week, and an on-site manager. An arena and round pen provide space for riding and groundwork, while lessons accommodate beginners through advanced riders across several disciplines.

For visitors, Pony Land offers guided rides through the surrounding nature preserve, with options that include riverbed outings, beach rides, sunset tours, and swim adventures. No riding experience is required for the guided tours. Beach access is subject to state park closures, so riders should confirm availability before booking.

Families can also enjoy hand-led pony rides, a pony carousel, and a petting zoo. Birthday packages include a western-themed picnic area, with additional options for bringing ponies and animal encounters to off-site celebrations. Horse-drawn wagons, carriages, and specialty horse rentals are available for weddings, parades, and larger events.

The ranch also breeds and sells American Quarter Horses. Contact Pony Land directly for current boarding rates, lesson options, ride availability, and event reservations.
